Our Review System
Every Tiramisu reviewed by the Tourism Board receives a score from 1-10, based on taste, texture, presentation, and authenticity. We visit each establishment personally, and pay for our own desserts - no sponsored content, no special treatment.
The Classification
9-10: Destination Status
Book the flight, make the trip. These are world-class tiramisu experiences that justify the journey alone. Perfect execution, memorable flavour. The stuff of dreams.
7-8: Priority Pass
Worth planning your day around, these establishments exceed expectations and demonstrate mastery. You'll still be talking about these months later.
4-6: Worth a Stop
Respectable Tiramisu that satisfies but doesn't surprise. If you're walking past and fancy a Tiramisu, it's a safe bet. Not life changing, but pleasant.
1-3: Travel Advisory
The board recommends avoiding these options. These range from disappointing to genuinely concerning. We review them so that you can stay well away.
The Hall of Fame
Not everything fits neatly into a numbers. The Hall of Fame celebrates tiramisu experiences that go above and beyond their rating; places that are special for reasons beyond their score
Yeah but, like what?
- Exceptional portions of great tiramisu
- Heirloom recipes, passed down through generations
- Unconventional versions and twists that are surprisingly brilliant
A 6/10 tiramisu served by an Italian Nonna who's been making it the same way for 50 years might make our Hall of Fame. Likewise for the 8/10 that requires a gondola ride to a café on the water, or a 7/10 that's somehow perfectly fresh and tasty even at 3am in a service station.
The Hall of Fame exists to remind us why we travel and seek out these dishes. That sometimes it's about more than just getting the Marsala:Mascarpone ratio right.
